We do not collect any Sensitive Data about you. We do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

• Where we need to contact you due to marketing, or other member specific correspondence, such as notifications from Committee, registration for events, membership fees as examples
• Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
• Where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.
Generally, we do not rely on consent as a legal ground for processing your personal data, other than in relation to sending marketing communications to you via email. 3. HOW WE’LL USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We will process your personal data in the following ways:
• Registering you as a BITUG Member
• Process a purchase such as BITUG event registration or Sponsorship
• To notify you of upcoming events that may interest you
• Collect and recover money owed to us
• Marketing communications – such as Newsletters
We will never share your personal data with any third parties within your specific opt-in consent.

4. WHO WE CAN SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH
We may have to share your personal data with the following parties:
• Service providers who provide IT and system administration services.
• Professional advisers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers who provide consultancy, banking, legal, insurance and accounting services.
• HM Revenue & Customs, regulators and other authorities based in the United Kingdom and other relevant jurisdictions who require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances.

We’ll keep your personal data for as long as you have a relationship with us and wish to remain a BITUG member. After you end the relationship, we will keep it as long as necessary for legitimate purposes e.g. to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

You have a number of rights relating to the personal data we hold on you. E.g. ask us to share what personal data we hold on you, ask for a correction to it, withdraw consent for us to it etc.
